Rental terms and conditions

These are the conditions your rental is taken under. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

1. What is included in your rate

Every rate includes unlimited mileage, third-party liability, collision damage waiver and theft protection at the Basic excess, roadside assistance across Greece, all local taxes and VAT, and any airport surcharge that applies to your pickup branch. A second set of keys is available on request at no charge.

2. Driver requirements

The main driver must be at least 21 years old and must have held a full licence for at least twelve months. Premium and convertible groups require a driver aged 25 or over with three years of licence. Drivers aged under 25 pay a young driver surcharge. Licences issued outside the EU must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit. Every driver must present their own licence at the desk.

3. Payment and deposit

The rental is paid in full at the desk when you collect the car. A deposit is held on the main driver's credit or debit card for the duration of the rental; the amount depends on the protection level you chose and is released when the car is returned undamaged. Cash deposits are not accepted. Prepaid and virtual cards cannot be used for the deposit.

4. Cancellation and amendment

Bookings may be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the pickup time. Cancellations inside 48 hours, and failure to collect the car within 3 hours of the booked time without contacting us, are treated as a no-show and are not refunded. Amendments are free at any time, subject to availability; if the new dates or group cost more, the difference is payable at the desk.

5. Fuel

Cars are supplied with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. Fuel that is missing on return is charged at the local pump price plus a €15 refuelling service fee. Electric vehicles operate on a same-to-same basis and no charging fee is applied. Using the wrong fuel is not covered by any protection level and the full repair cost is payable by the renter.

6. Where the car may be taken

Cars may be driven anywhere on the Greek mainland and on ferries between Greek ports, provided we are told in advance. Vehicles rented at island branches must remain on that island. Taking a car outside Greece requires a cross-border permit purchased at booking; without it the insurance is void. Cars must not be driven on unsurfaced roads, beaches or riverbeds.

7. Damage and what you owe

If the car is damaged, you owe the excess for your protection level, or the repair cost if it is lower. Damage to glass, tyres, mirrors and the undercarriage is excluded from Basic and covered from Plus upwards. Damage caused by driving under the influence, by an unnamed driver, off surfaced roads, or by ignoring a warning light is not covered at any protection level.

8. Traffic fines and tolls

You are responsible for any traffic fine, parking fine or unpaid toll incurred during your rental. Where the authorities contact us, we pass on your details as legally required and charge a €25 administration fee per notice.
